چکیده

This paper introduces a new vibration reduction system using magnetostrictive (Fe-Ga alloy) bimetal actuator. The proposed method (i) uses actuator instead of prevalent single material ones that need an auxiliary temperature control and (ii) utilises novel disturbance rejection scheme eliminates unknown disturbance, without needing knowledge its dynamics. In experiments, the source is demonstrated as unbalanced motor attached to tip cantilever beam, resembling beam-like element subject ambiance vibrations. first step, fundamental this anti-vibration introduced described. Then, analytical data-driven modelling for combination motor, reported. These follow by model validation impulse response analysis. in detail. Experimental results indicate 33.6% decrease beam amplitude. Furthermore, presented can be employed design guideline future applications.

Semi-Active Pulse-Switching SSDC Vibration Suppression using Magnetostrictive Materials

One of the best vibration control methods using smart actuators are semi-active approaches which are as strong as active methods and need no external energy supply such as passive ones. Compared with piezoelectric-based, magnetostrictive-based control methods have higher coupling efficiency, higher Curie temperature, higher flexibility to be integrated with curved structures and no depolarizati...

A model for a thin magnetostrictive actuator

In this paper, we propose a model for dynamic magnetostrictive hysteresis in a thin rod actuator. We derive two equations that represent magnetic and mechanical dynamic equilibrium. Our model results from an application of the energy balance principle. It is a dynamic model as it accounts for inertial effects and mechanical dissipation as the actuator deforms, and also eddycurrent losses in the...

Phenomenological dynamic model of a magnetostrictive actuator

The paper proposes a two-stage model able to describe the dynamic behavior of a commercial magnetostrictive actuator in the frequency range of interest for fast actuation purposes. The first stage is a static model of hysteresis, while the second one is a linear dynamic model. The model structure allows to define well-assessed identification procedures for both stages. In particular, the identi...
